Great for milling slabs. Tons of power

105cc set up with a 42in Bar and it is an absolute beast and rips right thru some massive hardwood trees. Compared to other name brand saws I’ve owned I will never buy another saw from anywhere but NeoTec you just can’t beat it.

Great saw with plenty of power. Also, awesome customer service! Worked very well for milling walnut slabs!

Cons: it very loud and it’s shakes when idling a little heavy , it leaks bar and chain oil while idling .

Pro: it very powerful will works perfectly for my alaskan mill

Used it once for 3 hours so far with my Alaskan mill. The saw is great. It loves gas and bar oil so make sure you have plenty when you get to the job site.

This thing is an absolute beast! For anyone trying to figure out which model of neotec/farmmac saws to purchase, this is the newest most upgraded saw. I don't have the 💰for a stihl 070, but everything on this appears to be cloned from that.
I bought the 2yr extended warranty for some peace of mind.

Follow the instructions carefully. I left the factory settings and ran my rich mixture for 6-10 fill ups. Be patient as it's going to have less power during this time. Once you lean the mixture back to 50:1, adjust the carb accordingly. The rpms will be higher, but more importantly under load, it'll cut better. I notice it has a couple of different exhaust notes while cutting. Like in the video, it gets a heavier grrr to it occasionally.
When first firing it up with the switch on and the choked pulled, it'll take a couple times for it to prime and fire. Turn choke off and 3 pulls later, we're running. Once break in cycle is finished, it's a one pull beast. It does have some clutch clanking noise that eventually went away.
The mixing jug is poorly designed with a tiny spout that won't even accept my slim funnel, so I had to carefully tip my gas and slowly let it fill up. As seen in the picture, the 35:1 mix line is on the outside of the handle. Took me a while to figure that out. 😆

3 Issues. 1, the oil adjustment bolt is under the carb linkage, and is a pain to get to. 2, the chain tensioner screw is poorly placed. With the standard multi tool that comes with it, you'll have to keep repositioning outgrew you hit the vast and risk stripping the bolt. With the mill on there. It's impossible to get to. I had a friend give me a bent screw driver that looks like it was meant for this saw, no clue where to buy it at. 3, the oil housing gasket leaks. This started when I changed bar oil to Walmart brand which seems thinner. I went back to TSC brand and theirs is heavier. Still weeps, but not as bad.

I did a ton of research and watched a ton a videos on this brand before settling on this saw. I've seen some complaints of black junk coming out the exhaust. This isn't plastic. I pulled the plug and it was clear it had been test fired, but was dripping with what I can only assume was anti corrosion/ break in lube. I cleaned the plug and it fired fine. The black stuff burns off coming out the exhaust.

I've seen complaints about it being hard to stop the chain because there is no brake. I had no issue with this. If you're chain is running away at idle, adjust the low setting on the carb.

I run a Neotec 42" bar with my mill. It stays so cool, that I can touch the chain after milling an entire tree. I only use the manual oiler when I first fire it up and right before a cut. The automatic oiler works fine after adjusting it according to your bar length as it states the factory setting is for a smaller bar. I had a little bit of tip burn on the paint, but with the amount of oil that was flowing, it seems like there was no preventing this.

The trigger lock for starting does not give it 100% throttle. So, if you're thinking it would make a great cruise control for long winded cuts, you'd be wrong. 😆 It's a pain to keep that trigger held through and entire 3-7 minute cut. Maybe I'll rig something up for that.
I like that the exhaust blows away from my face, and the mill while cutting unlike my Husqvarna.

I'm sure I'm missing something, but I'll edit if something changes.

I picked up this saw on sale specifically because I have a steady supply of wood to cut up in the 30+ inch range and needed a saw that could do it. Certainly a 90cc clone of a newer design would do it as well, but I reasoned that this very old, very basic design would be the easiest to clone correctly, and so should be the most reliable. So far, I've been very pleased.

I would say that this saw is the one to get if you are really only concerned with getting through big wood reliably without spending $1k plus for a pro level saw. If those are your only requirements, it will serve you well. It has tons of power, but isn't high strung. It seems to just shrug and eat its way through whatever you put the bar to. Not the fastest saw in the world, but keep it straight and you'll be hard pressed to bog it down. The wide open bottom of the sprocket cover is great for noodling. The dogs are perfectly usable. It's tough enough that I rolled a small log over it (maybe 18" diameter, 25ft long) and it only suffered a bent handle bar.

There are negatives too though: it's unreasonably heavy. You will need a strong back and healthy stamina to use this for any length of time. Not exaggerating, full of fuel with a 36 inch bar, it weighs as much as a small child. That weight also hangs way off of the left side, so if you try to one-hand it, it will start cutting on a curve: you must hold the heavy side up just a touch to keep it cutting straight. It is also very very loud (much louder than any other saw I own) and drinks a lot of fuel. Now the only negative that might be a deal killer for some: it will require you to be mechanically adept. I had to replace an oil sign glass that came cracked and leaking. They come set very rich for break in, and you'll need to tune it afterwards to get its full potential. I also went a bit further, and tried to head off the clutch spinning on the crankshaft (which this model is known to do) by taking it apart, cleaning it up, and putting it back together with a retaining compound on the taper and a thoroughly greased bearing. It's not complicated stuff, but it's also not as easy as taking it out of the box and going to town with it.

Overall, it's a steal for the price as long as you are realistic about what you are getting and how you intend to use it. Don't buy it expecting to be a one-saw guy with it, or you'll end up sore and disappointed. Save it for only the big wood, and you'll love it.

This saw is a monster .. heavy tho you better eat them wheetys

Used this Saw to cut through an Oak Log that had been down a while. Plan to make Shelves out of it for the house. I used this Saw in combination with the FARMMAC Portable 36" Portable Sawmill and cut 3" thick boards off of the 24" wide log. The Saw cut right through the log with no problems.

I use the farmmac 660 for chainsaw milling on the Norwood pm14 portamill. It's a total beast

I had my F070w for over a year now I mill with it and I love it that saw is a beast on my saw mill eat though wood like hot knife in butter. Since then I already bought two more F660w and F372w I love running them I had nothing but respect for this company and I can't say enough about the people that work there there is one person who I am surely glad I got to chat with she is a great friendly person who has done me good and I am thankful for that I can't wait to see this company grow because they build some go saw and can't wait to see what the next saw they come out with thank y'all very much Joseph Abbott

This machine is a very good starting saw cuts good, great for cutting up big hunks of wood it’s a heavier saw but the weight helps lots of times cuts down through hard wood with ease very happy!!
