Saw runs great right out of the box. I didn't realize it didn't come with the bar. So I have to wait for that and ripping chain to arrive! Can't wait to try it out with my milling jig

Works well with an Alaska-Mill

I was hesitant about going with this brand because I know it's a knock off of Husqvarna, but most of the reviews noted that NeoTec was striving for a high-quality reputation. I bought this to mill 2 maple trees worth of logs up to 36" diameter x 4'-6' long into slabs for projects. I have cut 17 slabs from 3 logs and I have almost a dozen logs left. Logging and milling is not my profession so I went with Neotec for the price. Comparable brand saws were $1000+.

I can't say if it's any better or worse than any other saw, but I can say it's getting the job done, and it's not difficult to use. It feels adequately powered for the task, it starts pretty easy even at 10deg temperature.

Some finer details:

Definitely dial in the idle screw prior to starting. There's no blade clutch, so the blade will start spinning the second it starts up. It was an eye opening experience.

The on/off switch is a bit frustrating. It's small and a bit buried under a cover when turned on, so emergency turn-off is difficult.

Manual recommend 40:1 fuel ratio, but most of the comments recommended 25:1. Ive been running 25:1 and I haven't noticed any issues.

Saw is very, very heavy, especially when paired with the Alaska-Mill. Make sure you know your strength and limits when working with this saw.

Overall, I'm impressed with the saw, it's performing well for the task it was designed, and I wouldnt hesitate to purchase a NeoTec in the future.

How to start the machine?

Cold Start

Add fuel (fuel mixing ratio: 25:1).
Close the choke. If the machine is equipped with a primer bulb, press it 3–5 times until the bulb is filled with fuel.
Pull the starter rope 3–5 times.
After hearing two “coughing” sounds,
Open the choke.
Pull the starter rope to start the machine.

Cannot start / Difficulty starting?

The issue may be caused by an incorrect fuel mixture, spark plug problems, or a clogged carburetor.

Check whether the fuel mixing ratio is 25:1. If not, adjust the fuel mixture to 25:1.
Check whether the fuel line is bent or blocked.
Check whether the spark plug is sparking properly.
Check whether the engine is flooded.
Check whether there is a carburetor malfunction.

How to handle a spark plug malfunction?

Confirm whether the spark plug is producing a spark: Remove the spark plug, connect it to the ignition coil, and place the spark plug electrode in contact with a metal part of the machine. Pull the starter rope and observe whether the spark plug produces a spark during starting.
Check the electrode gap. The correct gap is 0.5–0.7 mm (approximately the thickness of a credit card).
Clean oil residue and debris from the surface of the spark plug.
If the engine still does not start after completing the above steps, replace the spark plug with a new one.
Check whether the high-voltage wire (ignition coil lead) is damaged.

How to deal with engine flooding?

Remove the spark plug.
Turn the machine upside down.
Pull the starter rope.
Drain the excess fuel from the cylinder.

How to clean an air filter?

Remove the air filter.
Use an air blower to remove dust or debris from the air filter.
If it cannot be cleaned or has been used for a long time, replace the air filter.
