I was hesitant about going with this brand because I know it's a knock off of Husqvarna, but most of the reviews noted that NeoTec was striving for a high-quality reputation. I bought this to mill 2 maple trees worth of logs up to 36" diameter x 4'-6' long into slabs for projects. I have cut 17 slabs from 3 logs and I have almost a dozen logs left. Logging and milling is not my profession so I went with Neotec for the price. Comparable brand saws were $1000+.

I can't say if it's any better or worse than any other saw, but I can say it's getting the job done, and it's not difficult to use. It feels adequately powered for the task, it starts pretty easy even at 10deg temperature.

Some finer details:

Definitely dial in the idle screw prior to starting. There's no blade clutch, so the blade will start spinning the second it starts up. It was an eye opening experience.

The on/off switch is a bit frustrating. It's small and a bit buried under a cover when turned on, so emergency turn-off is difficult.

Manual recommend 40:1 fuel ratio, but most of the comments recommended 25:1. Ive been running 25:1 and I haven't noticed any issues.

Saw is very, very heavy, especially when paired with the Alaska-Mill. Make sure you know your strength and limits when working with this saw.

Overall, I'm impressed with the saw, it's performing well for the task it was designed, and I wouldnt hesitate to purchase a NeoTec in the future.

Recently, I purchased a 6 inch cordless chainsaw, but I wanted to get more extra chains because I cut ash branches which dulls the chains quickly. This bar and chain replacements were a perfect fit and I believe manufactured by the same factory in China because they looked identical and the packaging on the chains was almost identical. Rarely does a picture on Amazon show LESS than you receive, but I received 4 chains and a set of gloves too. The listing description on this set does indeed say 4, instead of the 3 pictured. For the price, I thought 3 was a good deal. The 4th was an unexpected pleasant surprise. This is a good buy.

As a former shop instructor I’ve had the privilege of seeing all manner of material removing tools cross my path.

The saw arrived well packaged and assembly was surprisingly easy. A neighbor had recently taken down some old oaks so I asked for the large trunk sections with the idea of cutting some slabs with this 43” beast. It’s not a lightweight saw but once the cut was started the 90 degree position handle feature allowed me a very manageable fairly strait cut along the 8 foot trunk section.

During the 40 minute assemble and test run it met all my metrics for a quality built and inspected machine without any glaring exceptions. IOW everything went together and nothing gave me the impression that it wouldn’t last long under usual private estate use.

I’ll be experimenting with the tooth angles a bit when resharpening but the existing factory chain angles are already optimally set towards a balance of loading the engine without it getting caught in the cut (happened a few times in the slabbing operation) and needing to be freed up. Use the wedges and keep it oiled with proper bar oil and I’d wager you’ll prosper.

In short, a worthy saw at an affordable price.

Blade seems questionable but the chains look great. This is supposed to be an upgrade to a 6 inch blade from a 4 inch. Blade seems cheaper than the one that came with my saw.

I would recommend this saw for cutting down any bigger sized trees, it is a beast.
It took a few pulls of the rope to get it going being new that's expected but not as hard as it was getting a smaller saw going for its first time.

As others have mentioned, this NS8105 is a BEAST. It is NOT lightweight nor is it the easiest pull start engine to get started. But, once started after breaking in, it has torque til Christmas. Seriously, it cuts 2" slabs from a dead red oak that are 32" wide by 9' long in minutes with virtually no bog or hesitation.

That said, I did have some initial issues. First off, it took about 15 pulls to get it started initially. Then the throttle needed some tweaking (backing off about 1 1/2 turns until the chain quit spinning). Then the nylon pawl for the starter fell out and squashed requiring some filing and sanding to return it to a functioning state. I ended up ordering a twin-pawl and spring clip for a 088/084 to beef this up, but haven't installed it yet. Lastly, this saw vibrates enough that the rivets holding the nameplate to the starter housing fell out and the nameplate and rivets are buried in sawdust at the moment. But I it all good considering I got more planking done in less time than previously.

If you are running an Alaskan sawmill rig on large tough wood like oak or maple, then this saw will handle your needs and you wont be disappointed.

These fit my 6 inch chainsaw perfectly.

What a beautiful piece of machinery. It started on the 2nd pull out of the box, my lawnmowers don’t start as nice! Allowed the machine to warm up and then went to a pile of black locust logs, and if you cut wood you know that stuffs hard as rocks. The saw cut through it like it wasn’t even there! Lots of torque!! The weight of the saw actually does a lot of the work. A real machine and very nice quality once again from NEOTEC and the NEOTEC team. Great job Steve Gardner

I purchased this chainsaw after looking on your site for spare parts for an old stihl chainsaw that I wanted to repair. The spare parts almost cost as much as the 8105, so I decided to buy the 8105. It arrived quickly, I think just as few days. Their are two models of this same chainsaw, one is a little cheeper, but is not on US soil when it’s shipped to you. The other model is on US soil and is $50 more expensive. It arrives in two boxes one with the bar and chain and the other with the motor and spare parts. I was surprised how big this machine is and was worried that it would be difficult to handle. I use it with a 36” chainsaw mill ( i think you could probably use the 36” bar on a 42” chainsaw mill. It was not difficult to use on the mill or to cut trees with. It does require you to run 3 full tanks of fuel to break it in and says it needs around 15 tanks to reach its full use of 6.4 hp. When I got it put together it started on about the 5th pull and although it was set to run rich it ran without problem. The first tree we milled was an oak tree. It handled with out problem and will easily cut big oaks and Mae quick work of any of the big cedars on our place. I have had no issues starting this saw and can’t wait for it to get to its full 6.4 hp.

It started right up and cut very clean.

Saw performance. I love the saw,I ripped a oak log into 2" slabs the neotech saw worked perfectly. I have run about 2 gals of non ethanol 90 octane thru it runs great idles like a champ,starts right up.i must say I followed the manual exactly, the chain oiler pump leaks a little,I have the 42" bar therfore I pumped it often.I wood recommend this saw all day .

Started up right away and built with quality parts has all the power you need for milling I have posted a video of it in action on my TikTok gravalgreenworks amazing and definitely recommend it to others

My only complaint is the owners manual has very little information and it reads like a 3rd grader wrote it. Would like to see detailed Maint intervals and tuning instructions.
