Great firewood saw!

This saw has been impressive in both power and reliability. After a fight to get it started initially, it's now my most reliable starting saw over 55cc. A few pulls gets it going, it won't flood like my others. The power is remarkable for it's size, this thing absolutely rips. It keeps getting stronger and easier to start as it breaks in. The oil pump is really strong, I turned it down for this 24" bar and it still slings. It came with a full wrap handle that was kinda a surprise.

This is a classic firewood saw, a little heavy, but incredibly capable and tough. My only complaint is the small tank and air filter requires frequent service.

FarmMac F380w

This saw turned out to be much better than I had ever expected. It has a full wrap handle bar which is not shown in pics. At first there was a bar oil leak from the inner chain guide due to a casting bulge which pushed it away from being flush. A little tweak in the guide plate and problem solved. I cut up a 22" White Ash tree with ease. My initial break in utilizes 3 heat cycles of 10 minutes run time and then a full cool down. It is not mentioned for break in but works very well for 2 stroke engines. On the 3rd session the idle came up so much I had to turn it down. It has always fired right up using the same procedure as for Stihl saws. I noted that this is a MS038 Magnum clone and not the 380 as the name implies. This is a great saw so don't be afraid to get one.

Great running well built with a cool look and an old school Stihl style

Just got mine today. Started in 2 cranks. Great looking and performing saw. Way better then I thought it was going to be. Very pleased. Even came with a nice full wrap handle bar too.

Great saw

I grew up cutting firewood and ran nothing but stihl saws. And decided to try this one and I'm very impressed by how much power it has and it performs great. Just had to fine tune the carb is all. Iv cut about 10 cord with it so far and no problems.

How to start the machine?

Cold Start

Add fuel (fuel mixing ratio: 25:1).
Close the choke. If the machine is equipped with a primer bulb, press it 3–5 times until the bulb is filled with fuel.
Pull the starter rope 3–5 times.
After hearing two “coughing” sounds,
Open the choke.
Pull the starter rope to start the machine.

Hot Start

Open the choke.
Pull the starter rope to start the machine.

Cannot start / Difficulty starting?

The issue may be caused by an incorrect fuel mixture, spark plug problems, or a clogged carburetor.

Check whether the fuel mixing ratio is 25:1. If not, adjust the fuel mixture to 25:1.
Check whether the fuel line is bent or blocked.
Check whether the spark plug is sparking properly.
Check whether the engine is flooded.
Check whether there is a carburetor malfunction.

How to handle a spark plug malfunction?

Confirm whether the spark plug is producing a spark: Remove the spark plug, connect it to the ignition coil, and place the spark plug electrode in contact with a metal part of the machine. Pull the starter rope and observe whether the spark plug produces a spark during starting.
Check the electrode gap. The correct gap is 0.5–0.7 mm (approximately the thickness of a credit card).
Clean oil residue and debris from the surface of the spark plug.
If the engine still does not start after completing the above steps, replace the spark plug with a new one.
Check whether the high-voltage wire (ignition coil lead) is damaged.

How to deal with engine flooding?

Remove the spark plug.
Turn the machine upside down.
Pull the starter rope.
Drain the excess fuel from the cylinder.

How to clean an air filter?

Remove the air filter.
Use an air blower to remove dust or debris from the air filter.
If it cannot be cleaned or has been used for a long time, replace the air filter.
