NH872 28in bar and chain

This saw rips! For about 25% of the cost of a name brand saw you can’t go wrong. The plastic is a little lighter duty than the name brand stuff but I think it will stand up to anything considered normal use. The bar and chain are functional but I will replace them after the first chain wears out. If I purchased again I would probably just get the power head and buy an Oregon bar and chain separately.
But the power head is a beast run a tank of gas through it and then adjusted the carburetor and it runs great. If I ever wear this one out I’ll definitely buy another one. Can definitely recommend this saw.

Great saw

Saw looks and runs great. Started on 2 or 3rd pull out of the box. Minor carb adjustment and it runs perfect

Hasn’t skipped a beat yet!

No complaints over here. Didn’t have to adjust the carb like some people had to. Only reason I’m not going 5 stars is because the chain tensioner was upside down so I had to unscrew that and move it up right. But for $300 I can handle that. Starts up every time. Not the heaviest. Does throw some bar oil at a good rate but I’m sure that will get better with time.

Quality Saw for an Approachable Price

I purchased this saw for slabbing out a felled oak. I have been happy with quality and power thus far having used it for about 12 hours of working time. My only regret is not going ahead and springing for the 36" bar as I have had to improvise a bit for the broader sections of the tree.

Very Solid Saw

We have used this saw for several months now. It has held up well. We cut a small amount of timber for our sawmill and found this saw to be of great value. You can see it work in this video: https://youtu.be/vdjXijAU6Es

3.5 Stars.. definitely cosmetics wrong with it, when I got it still reaked like fuel, the bar never showed up nor the chain, but customer service got right back to me and said they're shipping it out.. I had read on a lot of forms online that the carburetor that comes standard is junk so I already had a Walboro one waiting it fired right up, and the clutch plate looks like it's not like it's supposed to. Now I just need the bar and change so I can see how it cuts

Wouldn't idle but with a couple of minor carb adjustments works fine so far

When I first got the saw it wouldn't idle - it instantly stalled if you let off of the throttle - but with a couple of minor carb adjustments it runs and idles fine now. Have run only 2 tanks of gas through it and so far it works really well - particularly for the price. It looks fairly well built overall (not quite the fit and finish of a Husky but is is only 1/3 the cost.

strong saw for the price

Great saw. The caveat is this is just a copycat of a Husqvarna but otherwise. The saw runs strong and starts easily. It says 24" max but comes with a 28" bar option. I chose a quality bar and chain and it flat out cuts. I'm very happy with the purchase. Time will tell if it will last but I know I can get parts and still be in way less money than the Husqvarna model.

Awesome saw

So far, I am very pleased with the saw I only had to do a few minor things to it before I fired it up but the power is awesome. The engine feels very strong and with a 24 inch bar it makes quick work of firewood. So for the price and what I’ve gotten out of it so far, I’m very happy.

Seems to work fine

No problems thus far.
What I don't understand is why it says 24" max but you are offered A 28"
I do have the 28" and seems to spin it well.

A no-brainer

You need this if you maintain your own saw. The cost will be covered by the first ring you don't break when using it. The gauges are accurate, the tuning screwdrivers are just like the ones made by some German company. They are even the right color.

GREAT POWERFUL SAW

It performs exactly as I had hoped it would. The plastics aren't quite as nice as the Husky, but for the price, It is better than expected.

Love it beastly 28”blade

I got it pretty fast, both pieces came the same day. This thing is a beast, I got it cause I needed to chop a ton of dead ash trees down, and wasn’t trying to buy a stihl for 1500 dollars for the same size. This thing cranked right up, still cranks right up and rips through trees like butter. I recommend this saw for
sure I love it!!
Update I’ve had it all summer. This thing is a beast I bought to cut this giant tree that fell at camp it ripped right through it!!! Totally worth the money

Great saw !

I waited a year to write a review, I have used this saw constantly and have had no issues at all. All I had to do was tune it a bit and gained a lot of power. 28in bar it rips runs reliable. It’s worth every penny.

FAQS

Cold Start
  1. Add fuel (fuel mixing ratio: 25:1).
  2. Close the choke. If the machine is equipped with a primer bulb, press it 3–5 times until the bulb is filled with fuel.
  3. Pull the starter rope 3–5 times.
  4. After hearing two “coughing” sounds,
  5. Open the choke.
  6. Pull the starter rope to start the machine.
Hot Start
  1. Open the choke.
  2. Pull the starter rope to start the machine.

The issue may be caused by an incorrect fuel mixture, spark plug problems, or a clogged carburetor.

  1. Check whether the fuel mixing ratio is 25:1. If not, adjust the fuel mixture to 25:1.
  2. Check whether the fuel line is bent or blocked.
  3. Check whether the spark plug is sparking properly.
  4. Check whether the engine is flooded.
  5. Check whether there is a carburetor malfunction.
  1. Confirm whether the spark plug is producing a spark: Remove the spark plug, connect it to the ignition coil, and place the spark plug electrode in contact with a metal part of the machine. Pull the starter rope and observe whether the spark plug produces a spark during starting.
  2. Check the electrode gap. The correct gap is 0.5–0.7 mm (approximately the thickness of a credit card).
  3. Clean oil residue and debris from the surface of the spark plug.
  4. If the engine still does not start after completing the above steps, replace the spark plug with a new one.
  5. Check whether the high-voltage wire (ignition coil lead) is damaged.
  1. Remove the spark plug.
  2. Turn the machine upside down.
  3. Pull the starter rope.
  4. Drain the excess fuel from the cylinder.
  1. Remove the air filter.
  2. Use an air blower to remove dust or debris from the air filter.
  3. If it cannot be cleaned or has been used for a long time, replace the air filter.
